Frequently Asked Questions About Your Portrait Session:

What should we wear?
Avoid too formal clothes – it’s not advisable and may make you feel uncomfortable, particularly if this is not your normal ‘day wear’! Chances are you’ll end up sitting on the floor (indoors or out), so casual is going to be the best choice. Our portrait style is relaxed so the Sunday best could spoil a great picture.
Try to avoid clothing with bold logos and patterns – they’ll just detract from your face (which is the main focus of most portraits). The whole point of the session is to capture ‘you’ – not the clothes you’re wearing. With groups it’s a good idea to pick a ‘theme’, but don’t stick rigidly to it. Remember: Plain colours work best! If you all wear slight variations of a chosen colour then you’ll coordinate well together.
What about make-up?
It should be there but not seen to be there. Remember to have a hairbrush and make-up bag available in case of ‘emergency repairs’.
When is the best time to photograph my baby?
Any time, but the best results are achieved after they can sit up. Please remember when booking your sitting, to take into account your child’s routine. Make the appointment at a time of day when they are most comfortable and active, not just before feeding or sleeping. We will fit in around you.
how long does a portrait take?
This, of course, depends on the subject. We usually allow about an hour to obtain best results.
What if I have a special deadline?
We all decide to do things at the last minute, so please tell us at the time you book your sitting if you have a deadline. We are used to dealing with ‘short notice, special occasions’, and will do our best to accommodate your time scale but please remember this may vary, depending on our production schedule.
How do we get to see our photos?
Your portraits will be available to view on our website within 24 hours of your portrait session. This can be accessed by clicking on ‘Customer Login’ and entering your unique password. They will stay on-line for a reasonable time whilst you choose your prints (and of course, you can pass our web address on to your friends and relatives so that they can see how wonderful you look and perhaps order some too!)
How can I pay for my photographs?
For your convenience, we now accept payment by all major credit and debit cards, as well as secure payment through Paypal, in addition to cash or cheque options. Just follow the instructions in our customer ordering area and when you have made your choice of photographs, simply chose your preferred option.
How long will it take to get my prints?
Usually it takes around two weeks to prepare your order (although it can take longer depending on what you order). However, if you have a deadline to meet, please let us know. We can usually get them to you on time. We can either post the photographs to you or hand deliver them – just specify on your order summary online.
how are your reprints and enlargement made?
Reprints & enlargements are printed on genuine lustre finish photographic paper (for quality and longevity) by our team of professional photographic laboratory technicians.
